The combination of sheer cliffs, caves, wrecks, shelves and sandy and rocky sea beds means there is a large variety of fauna and flora to see in the Maltese waters.
With no tides or currents in the Maltese waters, enhanced by very good visibility underwater and a warm climate all year round, Malta is one of the top scuba diving destinations in the Mediterranean.
When diving in Malta one can also occasionally spot John Dory, mostly during wintertime, since they normally live at a greater depth. Corals are also found on arches, reefs and caves. They glow from a wonderful orange to pink and are particularly spectacular at night.
